Boothtown did the double over Victoria Rangers in freezing temperatures with the ground staff doing sterling work to ensure the game was played.
Boothtown’s captain Ben Mallas scored the opening try before Vics levelled with their only try. Livewire Nev Graham then sent Wayne Oakes through to score but the rest of the half was poor as the 4 week lay off and the cold left Boothtown lethargic in their play.

A much improved second half display with the introduction of sub Gary Lee saw Boothtown run away with the game but Vics showed plenty of spirit to make Terriers work hard for their points. Gary Lee sent the hard working Jamie Love through to score and then Mark Sutcliffe scored two tries, the first from a Nev Graham pass and the second when he powered over in the corner and Matt Withers knocked over the first conversion of the game. Gary Lee then got in on the act with a try and he knocked over the conversion for a good 28-4 lead. Gary Lee then halted Vics with a try saving tackle over his own line and got in the Vic players faces with a rugged display. Wayne Oakes then scored the try of the game, Matt Withers ran at the defence and released him down the touchline and he knocked off several defenders on his way to the line. Matt Withers then took the ball into the defence once again and released Craig Knowles who scored with ease. Jamie Love and Mark Sutcliffe drove well, Dale Brown and Nev Graham impressed in defence and Matt Withers and Gary Lee distributed well with ball in hand.
