After
a three week break, Boothtown
were a bit rusty and
it showed in
their defence as Calder
Valley proved
too strong in attack.
Valley scored
first to lead 6-0 but
Boothtown
fought back with Scott
Lindsey offloading
to Wayne
Oakes who scored
in the corner. Valley
then pressed
and scored three tries
to open up
a 22-4 lead.
Scott
Lindsey then put
a kick through the Valley
defence
and
Josh Goodall pounced
to score Boothtown's second
try, but Valley had the
last word
in
the first half with a
try to lead 28-8 at the
break. As in the first
half Valley had another
three try
burst to take the
game away from Boothtown
but they
didn't lie down and
fought back to score
two further tries
themselves, Scott Lindsey
threw a ball for Veteran
Andrew
Charlesworth to burst
through to score and
with his fourth assist
Scott Lindsey
then offloaded on halfway
for Jason
Dodd to sprint around
the fullback
for another trademark
try. Valley
scored the final try
to complete the victory.
