Boothtown's season got off to a woeful start, as a solid Liversedge side gave them a lesson in rugby. Liversedge stormed into a 24-0 lead with 4 converted tries in the first 20 minutes. Boothtown finally got on the scoresheet with Ben Mallas diving over from acting half-back. He then scored a carbon copy of his first try to further reduce the deficit. Damien Hughes then sent out a pass for Steve Love to score and make it 24-12 at the break.
Liversdge scored another 3 converted tries without reply to take the score to 42-12. Boothtown scored the consolation with the impressive youngster Danny Richardson sending a sublime pass for Mick Stafford to score.
