Boothtown
playing down the hill
in the first half were
their own worst enemies
with bad tackling and
too many
mistakes gifting Newsome
a 22-0 half
time lead. In the
second half Boothtown
came alive
after strong words
from coach Mick Dewhirst,
good tackling
from Jason Dodd, Nev
Graham and Paul Rawson
kept the score down.
Good
hands and directional
play from Simon Farrar,
Dean
Robertshaw and Luke Brown
got Boothtown
up the hill to 10yards
off Newsome's
line, the ball was swung
out and
a short pass from Simon
Farrar
to Nev
Graham on the burst nearly
got Terriers
their first points. With
5 mins
to go
Boothtown were awarded
a penalty and Paul Rawson
put Boothtown on the
scoreboard with the goal.
A
minute
later Nev Graham
drove the ball away
from Terriers line and
gave
a nice
short pass to Jason
Dodd who broke through
the defence
and raced 70 yards for
a try, Paul Rawson added
the conversion. Two late
tries for Newsome that
Boothtown thought were
gifted by the ref ended
the game.
