Despite
another heavy defeat,
all the Boothtown players
put in 100%
effort against a very
good Newsome
side and if they can
do that for the rest of
the season then survival
will be a certainty.
Newsome took a stranglehold
on the game with
four first half tries
but the Terriers
tackling was
making the big Newsome
side work hard
for their tries
and that was
epitomised with one try
saving tackle from Ben
Mallas.
Newsome
deservedly
led 0-18 at the break.
In the second
half Newsome scored a
further five tries but
Boothtown still battled
and scored probably the
best two tries of the
match, firstly Simon
Farrar
chipped over, Jason Dodd
caught the
ball on half way and
ran around the defence
to dive over in the
corner, then after a
good break from Paul
Kemp, Andrew Charlesworth
who had laid down his
Zimmer frame and come
on as a sub finished
off a flowing
move from one corner
to the other for the second
try. Paul Rawson was
colossal in defence to
top a quite impressive
tackle count throughout
the team. |
